- Acquired, and began analyzing, a new translation of the Aeneid
Sunday, June 16:
- Went to the Barr Smith Library, and borrowed a whole bunch of very exciting books
- Finalised my essay question
- Updated my bibliography
Monday, June 18:
- Finalised my essay question - "To what extent was the Aeneid a propaganda text for Caesar Augustus?"
Friday, June 21:
- Posted my essay plan!
Tuesday, July 8:
- After much more reading, started actually writing my essay.
- I have an introduction now! It's not much but it's a start... and it gives me an idea about where I want the rest of it to go.
- Re-read much of the second half of the Aeneid, locating more propaganda-ish bits.
Saturday, July 13:
- Wrote the rest of the first draft of my essay! Bits of the resulting text will be up here soon.
Wednesday, July 17:
- Posted the first draft of my essay's introduction.
Sunday, July 28:
- Posted a draft of my first paragraph.
Sunday, August 4:
- Posted a draft of my second paragraph.
Monday, August 5:
- Managed to cut quite a few words from my entire draft!
- Posted a draft of my third paragraph and conclusion.
Friday, August 8:
- Submitted my final draft of my entire essay! Rather proud of how it's going so far.
Friday, August 15:
- Received the final draft of my essay back so far, with a few corrections I made on the same day.
Friday, August 30:
- After cutting back another 100 words or so, I've submitted the final copy of my Special Study rather early. Much success has been had. :D
Shame it wasn't operating earlier! Maybe you can pre-date it in your 'spare time' over the break!
